Rise Up: Pligrimage to the Profound
Rise Up is a project of Silo's Message of San Francisco. It is open to anyone wishing to use Silo's tools deepen their own experience of the Sacred and share these tools with others. We recognize the gravity of the current situation and realize the importance of a true effort towards awakening.
Our vision is to journey through North America using Silo's tools to explore and develop ourselves and deepen our understanding of and connection to the people of this land. We will use workshops from the Manual for Messengers, exercises from Peter Deno's workshop on corporal expression, the Method, and forms of expression of the Profound that we are still developing.
The pilgrimage begins June 30th, 2013, anyone interested in joining or supporting the trip should contact: mcameron00@gmail.com

Spring Seasonal 2013
USA, Hudson Valley - 3/23/2013
On March 23rd, 2013, we gathered at the Hudson Valley Park for our Spring Seasonal Celebration.
It was a great day among friends, new and old! The Park was beautiful and covered with a few inches of snow but because it was sunny it was not cold. So we were able to walk in the forest and down by the waterfall. One person was inspired by the stream and crossed it in his bare feet.
There was lots of good conversation and a meditation of Well-Being as well as a feast of diverse food. Now we're just waiting for the warm weather and the blossoming of the forest!
a big hug
Seasonal Celebration Spring - 2013
USA, Red Bluff - 3/23/2013
We had our Seasonal Celebration at the Park on Saturday March 23rd.
We had the opportunity to place a "mobile hall" where the Hall is going to be built. It was a great day with lots of talks, activities, exchanges and we were able to do the Service Ceremony and the Well Being Ceremony in our tent.
It felt very good and it was inspiring and in a high emotional spirit. Afterwards we had dinner with everyone and at night we watch the "Healing of Suffering" projected inside the walls of the tent.
A great experience altogether.
Retreat on the Principles
USA, Red Bluff - 11/3/2012
Retreat on the principles.
This retreat is intended to be held for one day (8 hours).
- Framework:
The meaning of this retreat is to try to deepen the understanding of our lives and our actions, and strengthen the development of a new attitude in life, based on valid action to achieve internal unity and increasing coherence in front of life. In this retreat we will have the opportunity to work on these three topics.
The Principles are a key element of Silo's Message, and its daily practice as basis for the liberation of the Mind.
Recommendations:
Attitude.
During the retreat, the only issue is our own work and the right attitude is of kindness, good humor, sincerity and internal opening. We go deeper within ourselves and learn from others.
Mental Fence:
During the retreat we are in a "different mental space" where we do our work. We set a spatial limit around us and "suspend" everyday time to enter a temporary space given by the rhythms of our work. The mental fence allow us to concentrate energy and maintain a good attentional level. It is implemented by starting with an office.
How the retreat works:
We all participate in the same way and someone takes the role of coordinating the times.
It is recommended to observe punctuality regarding agreed schedules for activities, and also it helps to develop the retreat without hurrying (Paradox).
- Development:
- It starts with an office.
- Listen to chat: "The most important thing"
- Reading on the formative theme "The Principles", the Manual for Messengers. When reading the principles one by one, some time (short) is allowed in between for people to reflect individually and take notes.
After reading the first 6, take a break, and leave about an hour to exchange in groups about what each has been observed. Groups of 3 or 4 people.
- Lunch (1 hour approx.)
- Study of the principles 6-12. Same as above, with interchange.
- Personal work. Reflect on what is the most important principle for the situations that I'm living at this moment in my life. See how to get in touch with the register of that principle, define an "image" to help me guide my action towards the unitive, toward coherence. Write a brief summary in one or two sentences, in a way that is significant for myself (for this exercise is recommended to work with narrow limits of time and "force" the intuitive over the "rational").
- Group interchange: Each participant reads their synthesis (of course this is not mandatory).
- Team work: Form again small groups (3 or 4 persons) Each group elects one principle, and prepares a skit with the theme, showing coherence and incoherence in action.
- Closing: Closing Ceremony: office or imposition....
Winged Lion Writers' Group
USA, Davis - 9/3/2012
Last night we had our very first meeting of the Winged Lion Writers' Group in Davis, California; and in October we will begin a similar group in Berkeley.
Our first eight weeks in each group will be devoted to the study of Self Knowledge, from the book Self Liberation by Luis Ammann. Basing our approach on Silo's Message, we begin each meeting with the Experience of the Force, spend an hour or two reflecting, writing, and interchanging on one of the Self Knowledge lessons, and end with the Experience of Well-Being. Our intention here is to connect with each other at a deep level, sharing personal and collective experiences of the Sacred and the Profound, with the aspiration of becoming happier and freer human beings first, and inspired writers second.
We were all delighted with our first Davis meeting - it was an engrossing and compelling two hours, the time flew by, nobody wanted to stop. We went home with the Situation Analysis as written "homework"; next week we will interchange about that exercise, and anyone who wants to share what they wrote will have the opportunity.
Following is our "course description" from the Winged Lion Press Cooperative website (www.wingedlionpress.org):
Open to anyone who likes to write, or thinks they might, Winged Lion Writers' Group is about exploring personal and collective experiences of the Sacred and the Profound, using writing/speaking and group interchange to deepen and integrate our experiences. Those who wish are welcome to read their work aloud to the group; we will interchange in a constructive, supportive, and exploratory way about our experiences and our writing. Meetings will begin with a brief meditation to bring us together in the space of the Sacred that we all share within us, and will end with a brief ceremony of gratitude and well-being.
Our first theme will be Self-Knowledge, which we will explore over a period of approximately 8 sessions, following the book Self Liberation, by Luis Ammann (current situation analysis; autobiography - written in paragraph form and then outlined chronologically, noting accidents, repetitions, and changes of stage; roles, values, self image; reveries and reverie nucleus). This study will require some work outside meetings, as we will not only be developing our individual autobiographies and working on related exercises, but will be synthesizing our experiences in vignettes, poetry, short stories, reflections, etc. - whatever the work inspires in us.
Our focus here will be on learning about ourselves, on becoming happier and freer human beings. Undoubtedly some fine writing will emerge in the process, but producing literary masterpieces is not our main preoccupation. In our interchange we will aspire to help each other go more deeply into our personal experience and integrate our comprehensions into our daily lives on all levels of consciousness: waking life, daydreams, semi-sleep, meditation, and night dreams. Ideally this process will lead us deeper into the realm of inspiration, and will help us develop our ability to transmit that inspiration to others.
We will publish works from the group on the Winged Lion Press Cooperative website (www.WingedLionPress.org), and at the end of the first eight weeks will hold a celebratory public open mike reading. The group will be kept small, up to 8 people. Please contact project coordinator Trudi Lee Richards* (530-757-7576 / wingedlion@gmail.com) if you are interested in participating.
Possible future areas of study and reflection include:
